UPDATES IN THE DIAGNOSIS AND MANAGEMENT OF HYPOTHYROIDISM: AN INTEGRATIVE REVIEW

Introduction: Hypothyroidism is characterized by a deficiency in the production of thyroid hormones. Early diagnosis and appropriate management are crucial. Objectives: To review in an integrative manner recent updates in the diagnosis and management of hypothyroidism. Methodology: This is an integrative review of the literature, for data collection, the PubMed database was consulted. and used the descriptors "Hypothyroidism", "Diagnosis" and "Treatment", combined with the Boolean operator "AND". Conclusion: Thyroid ultrasound and autoantibody tests have allowed more accurate detection, contributing to more effective treatment. These innovations, along with the personalization of levothyroxine therapy, the holistic approach, and the
emphasis on education have improved disease management and quality of life for patients.
